Why San Bernardino Homeowners Choose Jerith Construction

We provide independent Jerith in Fontana and across San Bernardino, with hands-on experience servicing their Regis and Industrial Grade aluminum lines plus Baron and Manchester vinyl systems. When a Jerith fence fails here, it’s almost always tied to one of three things: intense UV exposure breaking down the powder coat, Santa Ana wind gusts stressing gate hardware, or sustained heat cycling causing vinyl rails to sag at the post connections. We know exactly which components give out first and how to fix them without ripping out a whole run. We’re an independent contractor, not affiliated with or authorized by Jerith, but we’ve worked on their products long enough to know what holds up and what doesn’t. Call (855) 473-5620 for a free estimate on Jerith repair or new installation in San Bernardino.

Why Trust San Bernardino Contractors for Your Jerith Construction?

Ruben Castillo, owner of San Bernardino Contractors, grew up on the Westside watching his uncle frame garages and reroof houses on a tight budget. That education taught him one thing early: if it’s not built right the first time, you’re just paying for it twice. That principle drives how we handle every Jerith fence we touch. We don’t patch over a failing post and call it done. We find out why the post failed, whether it’s wind-driven grit eating through the fasteners or a gate hinge that was never aligned to begin with. Our crew has set and repaired Jerith in Rialto and across San Bernardino yards from the flat grid west of the 215 to the foothill lots off Waterman Avenue. We know the soil moves here, we know the sun bakes the finish, and we know which Jerith components survive it and which ones don’t.

Common Jerith Construction Problems We Fix in San Bernardino

  • Powder-coat chalking on aluminum pickets. Jerith’s Regis and Industrial Grade aluminum fences come with a factory powder-coat finish that looks clean for the first few years. But San Bernardino’s UV load is relentless, with summers regularly exceeding 100°F and the sun hammering west-facing runs every afternoon. After five to eight years, we routinely see chalking, where the finish turns dull and leaves a white residue on your hand. It’s cosmetic at first but eventually exposes bare aluminum underneath, which oxidizes. We replace individual pickets with genuine Jerith components so the color still matches the rest of the run.
  • Post caps and brackets loosening from wind grit. Each fall, Santa Ana winds blow through the Inland Empire with gusts strong enough to rattle fence hardware loose. On Jerith aluminum fences, the post caps and rail brackets take the brunt of it. The constant micro-movement combined with airborne grit grinding against the finish wears down fasteners and opens small gaps. You’ll hear it as a rattle on windy days or see caps that twist slightly when you push on them. Left alone, the bracket loosens enough to let the rail drop, which then throws the entire section out of alignment.
  • Vinyl rail sag and separation at post connections. Jerith’s Baron and Manchester vinyl fence lines are built with routed post connections, where rails slide into pockets cut into the posts. That design is fine in temperate climates, but here we’re dealing with sustained heat cycling. Vinyl expands and contracts more than you’d expect, and over multiple San Bernardino summers the rails can work their way back out of the routed pockets or sag between posts. The material itself usually doesn’t fail; it’s the connection that gives. We re-seat rails, reinforce the pockets where needed, and in some cases add mid-rail support to prevent recurrence.
  • Gate hinge and latch misalignment. Jerith aluminum gates are built reasonably well from the factory, but the hinge posts take a beating in our soil conditions. San Bernardino’s alluvial ground shifts slightly with moisture changes, and over a few seasons a gate post can drift just enough to pull the hinges out of square. You’ll see it as a gate that drags on the latch side or refuses to close cleanly. If caught early, it’s a hardware adjustment and post re-set. If the hinges have been grinding for a year, the hinge holes wallow out and you’re looking at new hardware plus possibly a new gate section. We check this on every Jerith service call.
  • Bent or dented pickets from yard impacts. Aluminum is lighter than steel, which is why Jerith fences are easy to install and resist corrosion. But that lightness means a mower bump or a kid’s bike hitting a picket at speed leaves a dent. On Industrial Grade lines, the thicker gauge helps, but the Regis series pickets are thinner and more prone to showing impact damage. We stock replacement pickets in the common Jerith colors and can swap a damaged section without replacing the rails or posts.

Jerith Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

When matching an existing Jerith run, we source genuine Jerith repair in Bloomington and San Bernardino, with replacement pickets, rails, post caps, and gate hardware. Color consistency matters, and Jerith’s powder-coat colors have batch variations over the years, so aftermarket pickets rarely match a five-year-old fence. Where aftermarket makes sense is in fasteners and brackets. We use stainless steel or coated fasteners that outperform the originals in San Bernardino’s dry, gritty conditions. On the repair-vs-replace question, we’re straightforward with you. If a fence has widespread chalking across most pickets, multiple failed welds on the aluminum frame, or vinyl posts that have cracked from years of UV embrittlement, a partial replacement may cost nearly as much as new and we’ll tell you that plainly. If the damage is localized, a targeted repair gets the job done for far less. Call (855) 473-5620 and we’ll take a look and give you an honest assessment.

Our Jerith Service Process – Step by Step

  1. 1
Diagnosis. We walk the entire fence line with you, checking post stability, rail engagement at every connection, gate hinge alignment, and finish condition. On Jerith aluminum we look for chalking and bracket wear; on vinyl we check rail seating inside the routed pockets and post plumb.
  2. 2
Repair or installation. For repairs, we remove the damaged components and install matching Jerith or quality aftermarket parts as appropriate. For new installs, we set posts in concrete below the frost line, accounting for San Bernardino’s shifting alluvial soil.
  3. 3
Testing. Every gate gets opened and closed repeatedly, every post gets checked for movement, and every rail is verified seated correctly. We don’t leave until the fence swings clean and feels solid.
  4. 4
Warranty. We stand behind our labor on every Jerith repair and install. If something we touched fails due to our workmanship, we return and fix it. That’s the standard Ruben has held across the Inland Empire for years.
